Happy 4th of July, Y'all!

An unlikely crew, and the only time you’re ever likely to see such an assemblage on Gates of Vienna. Not being a movie person, only a few of these “stars” are recognizable. Some of them are even on "The Enemy" list.

No doubt you’ll do much better at figuring out who they all are.

Political differences aside, they read well and this was a good project. Given the context, it is particularly good to see Morgan Freeman leading the chorus.

Great material they have to work with, don’t you think?

The scenery is pretty cool, too.

The post did end here, until I went over to look at Zonka’s tribute to America:

On this 4th of July, I suspend with my normal policy of writing on this blog in Danish, and for those who haven’t guessed it yet, it is to celebrate the American Independence with my American friends and contacts, and indeed anybody who believe in the extraordinary thoughts, principles and concepts laid out in the American Declaration of Independence. Having said that I must admit that I doubted for a second or two whether there was anything to celebrate, with the Obama administration working overtime to make America as un-American as he can, and to destroy the uniqueness of the US Constitution…

Go on over and watch his Johnny Cash videos. It’ll get your red white and blue blood up and running.

Thanks, Zonka. You are truly a Dane!

Zonka--

What a wonderful tribute on your blog to America.

Thank you so much...it means a lot coming from you.

You're welcome and I'm glad to learn that you went to one of the Tea Parties and had a good time. And thanks for your gracious words about my humble tribute to your country and countrymen...

In times like this people who share the same sentiments as laid out in the Declaration of Independence must stand together. The forces that will lead us into darkness is gathering from all corners, and somebody have to continue to keep the torch of freedom lit.

Dymphna,
What you missed in this video, and do not get me wrong the words and intent are great, is that with the exception of maybe Mel Gibson every one of these actors are far left. In addition the producers Norman Lear and Rob Reiner are both far left, in fact Norman Lear is a admitted socialist. Is it not ironic that this people if given a chance would destroy that beautiful document as is happening now with the man they all enthusiastically support…president (small p intended) Hussein, but then again they are just actors…and mighty good ones at that.

Happy 4. july!

I was also prowling around for some truely patriotic material last night. The best I could find was this famous 25minute 1954 speech by the old sen. joe McCarthy. Streaming from the CBS news-archive.
The intro on the CBS site said

"Web Exclusive: Watch a replay of the famous broadcast of Edward Murrow's "See It Now" program that aired on March 9, 1954. This broadcast contributed to the downfall of Sen. Joseph McCarthy."

well, he sure didn´t go down without a fight!

I liked it a lot, if you want, you can watch it Here

All the best

Even I, the "modern-culture-is-odious" person who won't have a TV in the house recognizes what these people represent. Come on, Whoopi-Dhoopi Goldberg??

Honestly, I not only had a clue or two, but I was carrying them in my Dior clue bag as I watched. I don't want to hang around with these folks, and I don't pay for their movies, but this was free and well done.

But give the devil his due: they did a good job. And that was the point.

The fact that Morgan Freeman couldn't keep from mentioning the obvious, i.e., that black people and women weren't part of that original document, detracted from his introduction (rather a "duh" moment there, Morgan), but otherwise it was was well done.

Thanks for the Joe McCarthy segment.

It's amazing *they* allow us to view him. I'll bet there is something in the video that burns your retinas...

Frank Kitman said...

Actually it´s mcCarthy all the way through. Murrow´s is making it seem like he is being "generous" for letting the senator speak without comments...

The thing that would "hurt your retina" would be the preceding episode slandering the honourable sen. McCarthy. And THAT is what they won´t let us see.
wouldn´t want too many people nosing around, would we.

Better stick to emotions, and perpetuate the "icon of evil" already so succesfully established. people are only going to see and hear evil anyway.

As Bezmenov said

-"facts doesn´t matter anymore, to the left-wingers. They are contaminated. Only when a military boot crashes their big fat bottom... then they understand. But then it is of course too late. That is the tragedy"

Prudence, indeed, will dictate that Governments long established should not be changed for light and transient causes ...

It was somewhere around this point that I expected their heads to begin exploding.

Even more precious was the glaringly prompt introduction of a conspicuously native American to read the following words:

He has excited domestic insurrections amongst us, and has endeavoured to bring on the inhabitants of our frontiers, the merciless Indian Savages whose known rule of warfare, is an undistinguished destruction of all ages, sexes and conditions. [emphasis added]

Did anyone else catch that? All persons of obvious native American appearance were left out until this crucial passage.

Typical Liberal bigotry.

Again:

Prudence, indeed, will dictate that Governments long established should not be changed for light and transient causes ...

I can only wonder how many of these terminally narcissistic glitterati have even the most remote conception of how they have sought to alter the bedrock of America's rule by, what was once, a least intrusive government.

Admittedly, numerous and many administrations of late have sought to increase government and decrease the rights of its citizens but none like that of this nation's current executive administration.

While it is easy to levy exclusive blame upon the Democratic Party, there is much responsibility to be borne by this nation's Republicans for their abuse and continued growth of unnecessarily overarching government that no longer serves the American people in the exact same ways that this current breed of communistic leadership seeks to engender.

On the anniversary of this splendid nation's Independence, I say: May they all, each and every last traitorous politician, rot in a limitless and everlasting Hell.
